Equine Facilitated Wellness Services

Description:

These sessions are designed to help you connect with a horse and learn more about horses in a more relaxed environment. These sessions are customized to the person based on their areas of personal and relational growth. In these sessions we get to hang out with the horses with the focus on building a relationship with the horse and learning about ourselves. Horses have a great way in helping us see who we really are and express ourselves in a safe manner. This approach is designed to help us to slow down and stop to notice what is around us. There is still some horsemanship skills taught in these lessons but it is not the focus. Some of the activities that we do are breathing with the horses to get on horse time and to be more focused on the present (horse time). We also observe the horses and ourselves. We pet, touch and brush the horses. We can practice leading the horse around. We can practice doing patterns on the ground with the horse. We also spend time reading stories to the horses written about them. The main goal is to just be with the horse and to take time to slow down and listen to ourselves and to the horse. The actives we do vary based on clients horse experience, comfort level and at Johanna's discretion.  

 TIME: 90 Minute sessions, 30 minute Meet the Herd Session, Intake call varied time.

Cost: $120 per a sessions. $20 for the intake process including Meeting the Herd. I take e-transfer, cash or check. For these services I will send an invoice. Payment plans and terms can be arranged. I expect payment before a session or at the beginning of a session unless otherwise arranged.

Process: 

1. Before doing a session please contact me at jojohorse22@gmail.com. I will then send you an intake form and arrange an initial phone or zoom call to go over the services you are looking for. 

2.Then we will go visit the horses and meet the herd. After we will decide on the next session which will be a 90 minute session. If things go well with meet the herd and you want to start a session right away it is possible to start your sessions on the same day as meeting the horses. If this happens I will wave the intake process fee and charge session fee price instead. 

It is OUTSIDE of Johanna’s Scope of Practice to do the following:

•         I am not a certified councilor or psychologist.
•        Do counselling work.
•         Prescribe medication.
•        Make diagnosis of mental health conditions.
•       Train people to be Human Behavior Consultants.
•         Train people to be Riding Instructors.
•        Teach/ Coach advanced riding skills such as jumping, western pleasure, reigning, dressage or English riding.
•        Work with individuals with significant physical or mental disabilities.
